Namco UK Aquires Major Assets
Namco Operations Europe Ltd (NOEL) has completed the purchase of a major 56,000 square foot leisure destination venue in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
The multi-million pound purchase from Leamore Leisure Ltd includes three core businesses all under one roof:
· Strykers, a 26 lane bowling centre
· Xenon, a 900 capacity nightclub and
· Arena, a health & fitness club.
The acquisition represents the first stage of a planned rapid development programme to include both further acquisitions and new build operations. NOEL currently operate in over 30 locations throughout Europe including France, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Existing flagship operations include the Namco Station entertainment centres in County Hall (London), The Trafford Centre (Manchester) and Majadahonda (Madrid). Also following a successful pilot of a pool bar concept (‘The Q Lounge' in Nottingham) NOEL plan to roll out the concept in a number of major cities this year.
The Tamworth complex has traded for 10 years and NOEL's intention is to continue its success with significant further investment in refurbishment and introduction of new leisure products. The first step will be to complete a major refurbishment of the nightclub.

Namco has confirmed that the 100 plus staff based at the Tamworth complex will be retained and it is expected that as the refurbishment programme commences new positions will be created.
