uWink Introduce the uKnow System
uWink, Inc, today announced the inception of its uKnow System. The system allows each of its terminals to act as the center of a financial tracking system for an entire location. By connecting a small battery operated wireless module to any coin, bill, or meter mechanism, the income of any coin machine can be integrated into the uKnow system. The system provides remote monitoring and adjustment capability of all uWink terminals and any coin machines within 100 yards of the selected terminal.
All data is encrypted under an extremely secure public and private key DES encryption using a password that the operator selects. Without the password, only a meaningless series of characters can be seen. Even the uWink technologists monitoring the central server cannot gain access to this information, nor to the non-tournament income generated by its terminals.
"We found that many operators were concerned with privacy issues, so we took the extra step to assure that even our own people could not access the data," stated Nolan Bushnell, uWink's CEO. "The efficiency that the Internet has brought to virtually every other industry is now creating additional income, control and multiple capabilities in the public space game business."
