Asian Attractions Expo Moves To Shanghai For 2016
The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) announced Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) 2016 will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre 13-16th June, 2016.
Since 1997, Asian Attractions Expo has been the premier international trade show and conference for the multibillion-dollar leisure and attractions industry in the Asia-Pacific region. IAAPA, the trade association for the attractions industry worldwide, produces the annual Expo.
"We are thrilled to take Asian Attractions Expo back to China,” said IAAPA President and CEO Paul Noland. “We selected Shanghai, one of the most established business centers in China, as it is reflective of the tremendous international appeal of our industry to the Asia-Pacific region and the industry’s dynamic growth."
"Shanghai has grown exponentially over the past 15 years, and is home to some exciting new industry projects,” said IAAPA Vice President, Asia Pacific Operations June Ko. “The city is a perfect location to bring our international attendees and exhibitors to learn, buy, and network."
More than 7,000 attractions industry professionals from over 65 nations are expected to participate in the event. The trade show floor will showcase innovative products and services from more than 300 companies from around the world in more than 100 categories, including amusement and theme park rides; architectural and design services; coin-operated games, skill games, and redemption prizes; food and beverage equipment; water park attractions; and much more.
The trade show floor is the place where CEOs, directors, general managers, and senior managers of amusement and theme parks, waterparks, zoos, aquariums, museums, science centers, family entertainment centers, and resorts gather to experience what’s new in the attractions industry and purchase attractions and services to enhance their guest experience and increase revenue at their facilities.
The event also includes educational sessions related to safety, operations, marketing, human resources, and management presented by worldwide industry leaders in each discipline. Session discussions will center on industry trends and best practices, and throughout the week participants will network with colleagues to strengthen longtime business relationships and establish new business contacts.
The Asian Attraction Expo 2015 is currently open in Hong Kong and will be until tomorrow (19th). More news to come on what has been seen at the show.
Shanghai sits on China’s central coast. It is the country's largest city and a global financial hub. The city boasts the world’s busiest port and has committed to opening the region’s premier international financial, shipping, and trade center in 2020. Its heart is the Bund, a famed waterfront promenade lined with colonial-era buildings. Across the Huangpu River rises Pudong’s futuristic skyline, including 632-meter Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, with its distinctive pink spheres. Shanghai is also home to the sprawling Yuyuan Garden with its traditional pavilions, towers, and ponds, and Shanghai Disneyland Resort, which is expected to open in 2016.
