Bandai Namco unveil DC Superheroes arcade game
Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc has unveiled its new DC Comics-themed arcade game – DC Superheroes.
Earlier this month, the amusement company said it would be showing a new four-player DC Comics-themed arcade machine at EAG International 2017.
Bandai Namco described the machine as a “closed loop ticket pusher with collectable cards on the playfield”.
More details and pictures for the machine have now been released.
DC Superheroes is a game in which the player presses a shoot button to rotate a large wheel on the back wall of the cabinet and drop a token through a peg maze.
If the player times it just right they can get the token through the Bonus Drop area of the maze which will stop the bonus spinner above it. This will drop bonus tokens or cards onto the playfield in order for players to collect cards and win tickets.
The arcade game features collectible game cards around the playfield, which players try to knock off the tray to collect points.
There are 7 Hero cards which players can collect and turn in for a Hero Set Bonus. The heroes are: Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Green Lantern and The Flash.
There are also 7 Villain cards which players can collect to turn in for a Villain Set Bonus. The villains are: The Joker, Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Cheetah, The Penguin, Captain Cold and Harley Quinn.
The cabinet features 4 different sides of colorful DC Comics characters.
It is a four-player cabinet, but a single player game. One person plays one each of the four sides of the cabinet.
“We are really excited by the possibilities offered by the heroes and villains concept and the incredible DC Comics characters,” James Anderson, sales and commercial director for Bandai Namco, said of the DC Superheroes Arcade Machine.
“We know that the concept is proven, so increasing it to a four-player while maintaining a small footprint and anticipating that Warner Brothers have a number of film releases over the coming years with the characters on the game is a win-win situation.”
