BayTek Acquires Assets of Victory Lane Ideas
BayTek Inc. has announced its acquisition of the assets and name of Victory Lane Ideas, which had been in Ch. 11 bankruptcy protection. BayTek president Larry Treankler said, "We have a signed court order selling Victory Lane Ideas assets to BayTek." The purchase includes all intellectual property, including two patents, all inventories, and the specific product ‘Stock Car Challenge II.' VLI joined the coin-op arena when original founders, David Myus and Charlie Weisel, out of Greer, S.C., came up with a method to power model cars continuously around a racetrack without the use of battery power. The design uses the track itself to power the 1/24-scale model cars, eliminating the need for an attendant. "It's a good looking, money making piece that offers a lot of play value. It broadens our product line, and has potential to open doors to new venues for BayTek." Mr Treankler said.

Stock Car Challenge II is a four-player unit with game dimensions of 8' wide x 5' deep. Bay Tek plans to reengineer and upgrade certain aspects of Stock Car Challenge II; including cabinet design, graphics, and several electrical and track components. BayTek's service department is working to establish a sound service network for existing Stock Car Challenge II units already in the field. Mr Treankler said, "Our objective is to have service offerings up and running within 60-90 days, and a further goal to show the game at the 2004 fall parks show. New Stock Car Challenge II units will be built at BayTek's headquarters in Pulaski, Wisconsin. Victory Lane Ideas is BayTek's fourth acquisition in the past eight years.
