Brent Simplifies Euro Transition
Brent Electronic has become the first distributor in Europe to show the new CashFlow Programming Module (CPM). The CPM, which will be available via Brent Electronic from June, enables operators to undertake on-site programming of amusement machines fitted with CashFlow coin mechanisms before, during and beyond euro conversion.
Developed by MEI and compatible across the entire CashFlow range of coin validators, the CPM represents an invaluable business tool which will simplify euro transition for the gaming and amusement industry.
Explaining the benefits of the CPM, Paul Desforges, Director of Brent Electronic said: "All of the necessary coin acceptance software can be downloaded on to the unit and transferred by plugging the handheld CPM directly into the validator. The transfer of the data is completed within seconds without any disruption to the operation of the equipment."
The CPM represents a massive boost for operators who will be able to programme their CashFlow coin validators in advance of the euro with both euro and national coin data, maintain existing price of play through the transition period and move to euro-only coin acceptance simply by altering the switch settings on the mechanism at the time of their choosing. Alternatively the module can be used during the transition period for a one-time, euro-only conversion.
Brent is also developing a currency converter to allow dual currency acceptance whilst maintaining the existing price of play during the transition period.
Concluded Desforges: "The CPM is simple to use and is no bigger than a television remote control, yet it allows operators to complete a range of tasks central to the transition to the euro, without compromising on security."
