Father Sues Arcade for Game Tickets
BOCA RATON, USA - A father is suing an arcade company, saying his 7-year-old son was traumatized when it failed to give the boy prizes he won and then kicked them out for complaining.

In a report by Associated Press, they show that the father of the boy, Chris Fillichio, may also seek class-action status for his suit against Boomer's Family Recreation and its parent company -- Palace Entertainment of Irvine, Calif. -- because he thinks others also may have been cheated.

Fillichio claims that last March his son Giovanni, then 6, won 1,000 tickets while playing a game at Boomer's. The tickets can be exchanged for prizes such as candy, small stuffed animals and yo-yos.

Fillichio says he and the boy took the tickets to a counting machine, but it malfunctioned and printed out a voucher saying the boy won only 150 tickets. Fillichio says he complained to employees, but he was told to leave.

"He kept thinking that we were in trouble and that the police were coming," Fillichio said of his son.

Officers did come, but said the situation was a civil matter and left.

Fillichio's suit, filed three months ago, says his son "was traumatized, began uncontrollably crying, felt ashamed and was embarrassed. Even though he had two prior birthday parties at Boomer's, he states that he is afraid to return to Boomer's." He is seeking 1,000 tickets and legal fees.
