Gaming 2006 Exhibition Preview
The 5th International Gaming & Entertainment Expo (Gaming 2006) will be staged at the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre from 27-29 April 2006. According to show organisers, the expo has been widely recognised as the most significant exhibition of its kind in the Asia Pacific region since its inception in 2002. Gaming 2006 will be a gathering of the global gaming industry with the participation of the world's major industry suppliers and attendance of the key representatives of casino operators worldwide. The exhibition will be an ideal platform for corporate exposure and promotion of products.

Macau's gaming sector is now focusing on its development of tourism and will employ performances such as fashion shows, magic and acrobatics in its casinos and entertainment centres to encourage visitors to stay longer in the centres. This will generate excellent business opportunities for professional audio, lighting, acoustic systems, stage equipment and stage performance vendors. The International Audio, Lighting & Performance Entertainment Expo (ALP 2006) will be held concurrently with Gaming 2006 to cater to this new need.

According to figures released by the Macau government in March 2005, Macau's mushrooming casino industry pushed up Macau's gaming revenues by 30.1 percent in 2004 to 38.6 billion patacas, creating a record government budget surplus. "The potential of the casino industry in Macau could be astronomical," said a lawyer who has been advising firms entering the industry. "The potential comes from the high number of people with substantial wealth, with a high propensity to gamble who live in the vicinity of Macau." – This is a direct quote from The Standard, March 7, 2005.

Gaming 2006 show organisers, Coastal International Exhibition Co., Ltd., said there are currently 18 casinos operating in Macau and by 2008 this number should top 30 and the number of gaming tables is expected to rise from 1854 to over 4000. The relevant facilities, services & products for casinos & entertainment centres in Macau are in great demand, thus creating an enormous business opportunity for respective worldwide suppliers.
