Taking place on May 8 to 10, GTI Asia Taipei Expo 2008 saw over 120 exhibitors showcasing the latest and most popular products, including redemption, slots, vending, kiddie rides, pachinko, pinballs and much more.
In addition to exhibitors from Taiwan, the exhibiting companies also came from Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Italy, Russia, the UK, and the US. The variety of products, such as slots, cranes, vending, redemption, roulettes, pool tables, kiddie rides, pachinko, pushers, pinballs, and VR simulation attracted a large amount of both domestic and international buyers to the show to make their purchases. Visitors came from 55 countries and areas all over the world with a total attendance of over 3,000 visitors during the three days.
The rise of the gambling industry in Southeast Asian countries and areas such as Macau, Cambodia and Malaysia in recent years has become a hot issue all over the world; whether the industry is going further into Taiwan on its offshore islands of Penghu and Jinmen or not is also in the centre of attention now. The president-elect of Taiwan, Ma Ying Jeu, has claimed publicly to support the development of Taiwan's gambling industry. Moreover, the share prices of gambling concept stocks like IGS, Astro, IBASE and Advantech keep soaring to attract interested investors.
Since its inception in 1994, GTI Asia Taipei Expo has been growing year by year. Organised by Game Time International (GTI), the show is celebrating the 15th anniversary this year. GTI Asia Taipei Expo is the most well-known in Asia with the largest size, and of course one of the most important international tradeshows in the region.
