IAAPA Hires Melissa Teates as Director of Industry Research and Analysis
The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has created a new position focused on building its inventory of attractions industry information and hired 20-year research veteran Melissa Teates as Director of Industry Research and Analysis.
Teates will initiate, conduct and manage worldwide market research and data analysis. Specifically, she will oversee economic impact studies for the global attractions industry, financial and benchmarking reports for the association's constituencies, industry performance reports and forecasts, and the association's market census.
"Our members have expressed the need for more attractions industry information, and we responded," said President and CEO Paul Noland. "Melissa will play a vital role in providing research findings and data that will aid members in their decision making and allow the association to more effectively represent the industry to governments and press."
Teates has 20 years of experience in business research, analysis, writing and project management. Most recently, she served eight years as the director of research for the American Society of Travel Agents. Previously, Teates was the director of industry information and research at the Paperboard Packaging Council and served as international economist at the Association for Manufacturing Technology.
Teates holds a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University and a Certified Association Executive certification from the American Society of Association Executives.
She can be reached at mteates@IAAPA.org.
