Questions Concerning Konami Continuing As A Game Developer
Over the last few weeks there have been several significant events happen within Konami that have fans asking questions concerning whether or not the company will continue as a game developer.

The first event that took place was the departure of Hideo Kojima from Konami, throwing the Metal Gear Solid V project and the continuation of that series in to question. However, it would seem that Kojima will stay on the Metal Gear Solid V project until the game is finished. After that, Konami will move on without him and the publisher has stated that it will continue to create Metal Gear games in the future.

The second event was Konami voluntarily delisting themselves from the New York Stock Exchange, which has fans worried about the continuation of games being developed and brought into the US.

The third event was the cancellation of the upcoming Silent Hills game. A Konami representative told Game Informer via email:

"P.T. is being pulled from the PS store since it was created as a playable teaser for Silent Hills, but the distribution period and license usage within the demo have both now expired. Also, in response to what Del Toro said during the Q&A, Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic Silent Hills project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued."

These three things have led to a general panic among Konami fans who fear that the game development section of the company is collapsing under the current 'restructuring' taking place. There are several articles covering the economic impact Konami is experiencing and have linked them below further information explaining the various industry analysis of the circumstances. These analysis essentially seem to conclude that three events happening in such close quarters to each other is just an unfortunate coincidence and that, so far, there is insufficient evidence to suggest Konami will stop developing games.
