The DNA London Seminar 2013
The DNA London Seminar 2013 took place on January 21st, the day before EAG International trade show, and was organized in association with WAG International, which is dedicated to the amusement and leisure industries. The DNA London Seminar aims to promote and encourage the development of the Digital Out-of-Home Entertainment (DOE) sector and is supported by the UK Trade and Industries Association.

Despite heavy snows, the show was incredibly successful with over 30 attendees battling the weather to attend the one day event which included a number of high profile presentations, a 'thought provoking' keynote address from Randy White of White Hutchinson Leisure & Learning Group Ltd., and an exclusive announcement of a major new UK facility project. The seminar helped to clearly define what the DOE sector and the potential for it's continued growth and development.

According to a DNA press release, the latest London Seminar "continued to raise DNA's high standards with sessions that ranged from innovations in the arcade scene to applications of 4D/5D in leisure facilities and mixed-reality cross dimensional game play in public-spaces".

The presentations covered topics of new technologies and applications in the leisure and entertainment market, including: new Interactive Dark Rides (iDR) from developers such as Triotech and de Pinxi; new models of innovation and trends in the DOE sector, such as powering mobile applications in the leisure arena featuring speakers from Dogfi.sh, Hide & Seek, and Theme Park Nerd; emerging VR and AR applications in leisure facilities/public places by such companies as Animalive and Sprylab Technologies; and new applications of digital entertainment technology in the hospitality sector, with a presentation by Mindstorm Multitouch. There was also a 3D presentation by Possible Worldwide.

The team leader behind a proposed new major UK facility, announced the possibility of a new theme resort which would cover a massive 872 acres of land, called Paramount London. Hopefully we'll hear more about those developments in the future.

The seminar concluded with a presentation from a representative of the UK Trade and Industries Association which expanded on their initiative in the "experience economy", and closed by Kevin Williams, the DNA Associations founding Chairman, who charted the developments in the growing association, and outlined key opportunities in the DOE market.

The DNA is currently developing a number of special international presentations, which will aim to promote myriad opportunities in the DOE sector and grow the membership of the only dedicated organization promoting these opportunities in the DOE entertainment market.

All presentations from the DNA London Seminar 2013 will be made available for download on the DNA website, and more news to come soon in regards to the next major DNA US Conference.
