Virtua Striker 4 undergoes a face lift for 2006 with an updated roster of stars and allows more interaction with the VS.net system. This update is still powered by the Triforce hardware system and also features gameplay balances to improve the overall balance of the game.
Players can purchase a players card which is a memory card to save their team preference, formation and track record. The game features many customisation options for the individual player and team. As well as giving players options to change team formation and tactics.
To tie into real life, while a member of the team is dribbling or running, the stamina bar of that team member begins to drain. When the player is stationary again or at half time the stamina bar recovers. The Yellow / Red Card system is also employed which can eject a team member for the entire game.
