Resident Evil will become an Escape Room Experience for Halloween thanks to Capcom and iam8bit, open from October 21 (6:30pm) to November 6 (11:00pm) in Los Angeles, USA.
The two collaborating companies are not the first to look towards pop up interactive experiences to promote themselves or products, a more recent example being Sega and Zero Latency collaboration
for a VR experience in Japan. This Resident Evil experience is promoting the latest game from the long-running series, Resident Evil 7, which will release in January 24, 2017.
On the escape room's EventBrite page, it says the escape room has "As part of the Resident Evil series’ 20th anniversary, Capcom has teamed up with iam8bit to bring the franchise to life as an interactive escape room with the Resident Evil Escape Experience! This unique escape game experience is themed around the popular survival horror series, including some obvious and some not so obvious nods to various Resident Evil games, as well as the upcoming Resident Evil 7 biohazard."
Tickets cost $35USD and players will be arranged into teams of six. While there is no age limit, it is recommended players be 17 years of age or older. The company has also asked players arrive at least 15 mins early so as not to miss their session!
According to the event, "There’s more to see than just the escape game itself – iam8bit will have an art gallery featuring Resident Evil-themed art in a celebration of all things Resident Evil. Limited edition prints of the art and other exclusive merchandise will be available for sale."
