Japan Sees Influx of Mobile Phone Games
With the announcements recently by Sega and Konami of mobile phone games, more manufacturers have joined the race and there are now at least 6 companies designing games for the medium. Currently the games are most predominant on the NTT DoCoMo's i-mode mobile service in Japan and in some other areas of East Asia and run on the 503 series of mobile phones. News provider, The Daily Radar reported there are plans to introduce the mobile game system to the USA with the expected collaboration of AT&T and NTT DoCoMo.

The games released so far include four from Sega: NiGHTS, Samba De Amigo, Chu Chu Puzzle, and Chu Chu Edit. Taito's releases are: Space Invaders, Puzzle Bobble, and Arkanoid. Namco's have four titles: Namco Station, Crocodilian Crocodilian Panic, Chain Shot, Pac-Man, and Hudson have released "Star Soldiers". Konami have also announced they will be releasing Dance Dance Revolution on the 530 series telephone. For more information on Konami's release, see our news story here.
