Sega To Launch New-Style
Each amusement centre will feature game terminals that enable players to compete with players at other locations as well as watch movies,cartoons, music video clips and sporting events. The centers will also have refreshment areas.
The terminals will be equipped with an 18-inch active-matrix LCD screen, a camera and microphone and be linked via a fiber-optic network. The charge will be 500 yen per 30 minutes of use. Two people can use each terminal.
The company plans to open three game centers in Tokyo in July and aims to expand the chain to 20 nationwide within this fiscal year and to 600 in three years.
