Uwink is starting the New Year off with a BANG with its Zillionaire Tournament running until Monday, January 8. Cash prizes total $2475, with the first place winner receiving $750.
The "Zillionaire" tournament, beginning December 22nd, will be conducted with new questions that will be downloaded to the terminals prior to the commencement of the tournament. uWink has been regularly downloading new games, new trivia questions and other content free of charge to all its terminals on location in the U.S. and the U.K. The company has downloaded from its servers in Los Angeles 1200 new questions to its online terminals in the last month.
"Zillionaire" encourages group play, and is perhaps the first tournament where it is predicted that players will form teams of members with knowledge in different subjects in order to compete more successfully. "Zillionaire" tournament edition gives additional score for rapid responses, thereby enhancing its operation in a competitive prized environment.
"The 'Zillionaire' trivia assignment has been exciting and challenging," said Kathy Ordonez, uWink's trivia coordinator. "Assuring accuracy has been my paramount objective, and equally important is making the questions fun and dynamic. All our trivia writers, both domestic and international, and checkers know that we have no interest in questions that are so difficult that they become esoteric. We strongly support general knowledge questions that provide fun and excitement."
uWink's growing network of trivia writers has completed questions for its "Zillionaire" game for the U.K., Spain, Italy, Germany, and France and is aggressively working on several other countries. The company will download its U.K. trivia questions to its terminals in the U.K. next week to allow "Zillionaire" tournaments to be tested in London.
uWink downloaded 500 new questions for Zillionaire, with a planned six hundred new questions downloaded every month. For those month's with national holidays, many of the questions will be themed specifically for the holiday including this Christmas season.
