In the lead up to the Eurogamer Expo, Virgin Media will be opening a pop up gaming space in East London at the Blackall Studios. The game space will host game jams, development talks and workshops geared towards inspiring and aspiring game developers.

Attendees will also get the chance to play with the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset and a number of games that will be exhibited at the expo before anyone else.

From August 19th you can book yourself a spot at VMGS talks, workshops and demos. The space will officially be open from August 27th to September 21st from 10am to 7pm, and a full list of events and featured games will be added over the following weeks.

So far, it has been revealed that the Game Space will be hosting an event every week. In week one, Virgin Media is running a 24-hour Lifelites Game Jam to produce games for children with limited mobility. In week two, the Game Space is showcasing Cello Fortress, with Beyond: Two Souls for PS3 and Tearaway for PlayStation Via being showcased in week three. Week four wraps up the event with an Arcade Jam where various creative minds from around Europe will build DIY arcade machines and games.

Eurogamer Expo 2013 itself is going to be an exciting event for amusement fans as well. While the event is a general game expo and will include a vast majority of console games, both Konami and Namco Bandai Games will be exhibiting titles at the London event. Namco Bandai will be presenting Dark Souls II, while Konami will present Castlevania: Lords of Shadow II and Pro Evolution Soccer 2014.

The expo will also have a showcase area called India Games Arcade which exhibits "the very best games the indie scene has to offer. These titles are often just as creatively vibrant (if not more so) than their big budget cousins, making the IGA a great destination to unearth hidden gems". This year's indie titles include:

  • Achtung Arcade by Sos Sosowski
  • Anima by OutOfTheBit
  • Assault Android Cactus by Witch Beam Games
  • CarTank by RichMakeGame
  • CHROMA by Mark Foster
  • Cloudbuilt by Coilworks
  • Eden Star by Flix Interactive
  • Endlight by Bigpants
  • Fist of Awesome by I Fight Bears
  • Framed by Loveshack
  • I Get This Call Every Day by David S Gallant
  • Master Reboot by Wales Interactive
  • MirrorMoon EP by Santa Regione
  • Myriad by Erlend Grefsrud
  • Out There by Mi-Clos Studio
  • Shiftlings by Rock Pocket Games
  • Skipping Stones by KO-OP Mode
  • Teslagrad by Rain Games
  • Three Monkeys by Sonos Games
  • Tomb of Rooms by Idle Creations, and...
  • Xenolith by Snowbelt Interactive.

The Eurogamer Expo will take place September 26th to 29th at the Earls Court in London. It will also include a number of other super cool and fun features, such as the Retro Arcade showcase celebrating 40 years of excellent gaming, Developer's Sessions, Industry Fair, Game Merchandise Tables, Tournaments, Competitions, Pinballs and Cosplay! If you're in the London area and want to check it out, grab tickets quick, the Saturday and Sunday sessions are already booked out.
