IT started the International Tournament System (ITS) in 1996. Since then ITS tournaments have generated over 7 million dollars in prize money to tens of thousands of players across the United States and England.
With the assistance of Ontario-based Starburst Coin Machines, IT's largest distributor in Canada, the newly designed ITNet tournament system is being re-structured to conform to Canadian law. "We have carefully reviewed the legal statutes in Canada," said Gary Walters of Starburst, "and believe we have come up with a new method of tournament administration that eliminates player entry fees and is compliant with Canadian laws."
Incredible Technologies is currently creating a special online software version of Golden Tee Fore! for exclusive use in Canada. The software will include Canadian coinage and pricing, and will offer both Tournament and League Play formats. A number of ten-unit tests will take place in the near future, to work out phone connection, data transfer, fulfillment, and other issues. A national roll-out is expected shortly after the conclusion of these tests.
A Canadian office, dedicated to the administration of Canadian online play, is under discussion at this time. This office will generally support tournament play, train and register operators and machines, and determine and fulfill tournament prize claims. Operators with existing Golden Tee Fore! machines will be offered an upgrade kit to adapt their games for tournament and online play.
"Golden Tee has a huge following, and Canada is primed and ready for online features," said Scott Morrison, IT's Vice President of Marketing and ITS Tournament Director. "We are confident that ITS Tournaments and GTGA League play will be met with spectacular results in Canada when they become available."
