Despite the current uncertainty over the new Italian law for coin op; Tecnoplay who are the official distributor for Sega in Italy found their stand mobbed by operators not only wishing to see and play the Virtua Striker 3 game, but also to buy.

Virtua Striker 3 is based on the super powerful Naomi 2 board, which gives the game a new sense of graphic realism. The increased power also allows the player total control of his team of football players. The football players can now step over, side step and back flip the ball, turn sharply and tackle more accurately. Violent tackles are met with either a Red or Yellow card, which can lead to a player being sent off. Players can develop team tactics and strategies for passing the ball and scoring. For the true football aficionado there is also the offside rule.
Sega Amusements Europe Ltd, Sales Manager - Liz Ward commented "The original Virtua Striker 2000 was a huge success and players came back time and time again to play the game. Players never got bored of the game and operators benefited from a high level of repeat business. However, players were often frustrated by the occasional lack of full control and felt that the game could sometimes be quicker. Virtua Striker 3 has resolved all these issues and we believe that the return on investment for this game will be highly profitable to operators."
Virtua Striker 3 is available in the Naomi Universal upright cabinet and also the Naomi 50" cabinet. Initial sales of the game have shot through the roof and is selling more than 200% quicker than even the record breaking Virtua Tennis did at its launch. The initial production scheduled for April has already sold out and a second production run is scheduled for May.
